Hemisphere Balancing

The two hemispheres of your brain do different jobs. The left is concerned largely with logic and reason — it connects you to space and time, and does detail and order. The right governs your creative and expansive self, operating outside of space and time — visual rather than linguistic, concerned with the whole rather than the ego and self. To be fully congruent with a new belief, both hemispheres — the whole — need to be communicating, in flow and coherence with each other, and with the belief statement you are writing into the subconscious mind. That's what this part of the method does.

Why balance both hemispheres

When the two hemispheres of the brain are communicating, the corpus callosum — the "brain-bridge" — allows a speedy transfer of information and more efficient brain function, through a symmetrical bi-lateral brain wave pattern.

Under stress, brain wave patterns change and the amygdala fires unhelpful emotional signals of fear and worry — and it becomes hard to access your logical brain and think rationally. Generally, the right hemisphere perceives negative emotions and the left hemisphere makes logical rationalisation or order of them. We don't know everything about what happens in the brain during belief change, but we do know that to be fully congruent, both hemispheres — the whole — need to be communicating, in flow and coherence with each other, and with the belief statement you are aligning with.

Using the Healing InSight system, you go through a process using ancient qigong practice — and a little healing insight — that activates and aligns each hemisphere of the brain with the new desired belief. It is this activation process that allows the whole brain and body to align with the new belief, creating coherence within the whole body-mind, literally re-writing over the opposing limiting belief.

A brain split down the middle into two coloured halves. The left half (blue) is labelled Left-brain functions: logic, language, numbers, facts, analytical thought, reasoning, sequencing, right-hand control. The right half (orange) is labelled Right-brain functions: creativity, visualization, emotional intelligence, motor skills, rhythm, holistic thought, 3D forms, left-hand control.
The two hemispheres of the brain operate with different functions: the left is concerned with logic, reason, detail and order; the right with the creative and expansive self, operating outside of space and time.

How the test decides which side first

It is easier to muscle test which hemisphere you need to activate first, as there is often more resistance to the belief in one hemisphere than the other. Ask, and see what your energy system requires to make the process easier:

State "I need to activate the left hemisphere first" and test.

  • If yes, you will perform the activation with your left hand/brain hemisphere first, then your right.
  • If no, you will perform the activation with your right hand/brain hemisphere first, then your left.

The activation itself

Throughout the alignment, you hold the wu chi standing posture and perform the infinity harmonising movement over the lower Dan Tien — the sideways figure of eight, palms turning to face the heavens or the earth at each end. It is this qigong movement, alongside the belief repetition, that activates each hemisphere.

Stick figure standing with hands at the hips, one side of the head glowing gold, a dashed figure-of-eight loop circling both hemispheres of the head.
Awareness moves hand to hand while the figure-of-eight runs — each hemisphere activating in turn.

With that movement running, activation itself has three parts:

  1. Bring your awareness and attention to the energy in your first hand (left or right, as found by the test above), repeating your belief, until that hemisphere of the brain feels activated.
  2. Bring your awareness and attention to the energy in your other hand, repeating your belief, until that hemisphere feels activated too.
  3. Hold both hemispheres of the brain in a whole-body awareness, simply as an observer, continuing to repeat the belief as you witness the sensation of release and/or belief alignment.

You may notice brain activation by a subtle tingling sensation, heat, light or heaviness in the hemisphere. Wait until you are sure that the hemisphere has activated.

If one side tends to lead

Some people are largely one-hemisphere dominant, and need extra help activating a particular hemisphere. You may be always led by your emotions (right-brain dominant), or always turn to your head to figure things out and avoid emotions at all cost (left-brain dominant). Balance is always the best way forward — daily qigong practice helps here, along with an awareness of your own pattern and a willingness to challenge or change it. Aligning with the belief "I have balance in my brain and life" can help too.
